Will a station wagon chassis fit a 3 door hard top or truck
cab ?
Unfortunately
not. The basic frame is the same but the body mountings and floor Supports
are different.
Will
a 6 cylinder chassis fit a 4 cylinder engine ?
The
simple answer is no. Again the basic frame is the same but four of the
main cross members are a few inches further back and the engine mountings
are positioned differently. There are also some other minor changes.
What
are the differences on a V8 stage one ?
Major,
the first four cross members are completely different as are the steering
relay mounting and the engine mountings.
What
are the main differences between an Air Portable and a standard 88” chassis
?
The
main differences are that the bulk head out riggers are approximately
20 millimeters narrower as is the army type rear cross member. The number
2 cross member has oil cooler mountings fitted. The gear box cross member
is a dropout type (bolt on) fitted with a tie rod bracket. The rear
body mounting and seat belt mountings are also of a different type.
